Hudson's Newborn Photos

Hello, all!  I hope your summer is going swimmingly!  :)  School is approaching very quickly, and I wanted to share with my old 2A friends the pictures that were taken of Hudson when he was almost 2 weeks old.  I made them into a photo book on Picaboo; if you haven't tried their site, it's wonderful and affordable (especially if you keep your books to 20 pages long).  :)

Hope you enjoy, and hope you enjoy the remainder of your summer break!

Flea Market 2011

Our 2nd Grade Flea Market was a huge success this year!  Our students worked SO hard and were very "professional" throughout the sale!  :)

I am sorry to say that some of my pictures have gotten lost (my laptop crashed at some point the first time I was trying to upload the pictures several weeks ago), but I have included all the pictures I could find.  If I come across any others, I will add them.  :(  Sometimes technology is wonderful, and sometimes it is infuriating.

Hope you enjoy our photos:

Author Study: Leo Lionni

This week we are reading Leo Lionni's The Extraordinary Egg.  The book is full of rich, robust vocabulary words and beautiful, unique illustrations.  Leo Lionni has many fabulous books.

Today we read Inch by Inch, which tied into not only our author study, but also our study of insect life cycles and our study of measurement in math!  Triple whammy!

Check out this great website about Leo Lionni's books:

Mozart's Last Day in 2A

Friday was a bittersweet day for our class, as it was Mozart's last day with us.

We found him a new home with a loving family at our school, so it makes us feel better to know he will be loved and cared for.

Here are some pictures to help us remember our time with Mozart this year.

Mozart, we will miss you!

Mrs. C's & Avery's Birthday!

Avery & I are lucky enough to share a birthday!  It was so fun to celebrate together with the class!

Thanks to Paula for arranging the celebration and to Avery's mom, Sheridan, for bringing (and decorating!) the yummy cookie cake!  We all REALLY enjoyed it!  :)

Thanks, 2A, for a wonderful birthday!!

Thunder Cake!

V.J.'s mom, Deena, was nice enough to take the recipe for Thunder Cake and make one for us to try out that Friday that we read the book.

The kids LOVED the cake!

A big thanks to Deena and Maurizio, who also came up and helped serve the cake!

Weather Reports: Friday, March 25th

Sorry, I had so much trouble with the Flip Camera not uploading Thursday, that I decided to use my digital camera to film on Friday.  Therefore, instead of putting together all the reports as a movie, I had to post each one separately.

Enjoy!  :)
